than two. The cards were filled with family information. The notes
that follow are from the cards.

Clermont, Ohio, son of John and Barbary Shetterly Fisher. John
born ca 1778 in New Jersey, died ca fall of 1850 at Stony Creek Township,
Madison, Indiana. Barbara Shetterly
born 1785 in Pennsylvania. (1850 census shows John, age 72 and
Barbary age 65).

Married 08 Mar 1849 to Elizabeth Ann Gwinn at Fisherburg, Madison,
Indiana. Elizabeth Ann Gwinn born 30 May 1830, Greenbrier County,
Virginia, daughter of Alexander Gwinn
and Mary Gwinn, 1st cousins. Elizabeth Ann died 30 Mar 1859
Richland Township,
Warren, Iowa.

Children of John W. Fisher and Elizabeth A. Gwinn: Almeda Jane, born
10 Dec 1849, married Samuel Peter Beeks Shepherd at harford, Iowa 04
Nov 1866 or 1867. Had 7 children (See also Shepherd, Post 12 G.A.R.)
Phoebe Catherine (called Kate), born 01 Apr 1855, married 16 July
1876 to Edward Shutt. Laura Ellen, born 13 Sec 1856, married 01 Nov
1874 or 1875 to George Jeffries, died at Truro, Madison, Iowa. By
2nd wife, Robert C. W. born 15 Jul 1866, died 05 Jul 1873 near
Hartford, Warren, Iowa.

Aug 1864.

Lola Shepherd Elliot of 1603 E. 14th Street, Des Moines has family
Bible, is daughter of Samuel Peter Beeks Shepherd and Almeda Jane
Fisher. Claimed eligibility to join Daughters of Union Veterans from
John W. Fisher and father.

Census - John and Barbary Fisher in Stony Creek Township, Madison
County, Indiana.

John Fisher and Barbary Shetterly were married in Clermont County,
Ohio. They moved in 1829 or 1830 to Madison County, Indiana and
settled in Stony Creek township. Not found in 1830 census. Their
youngest child was born in 1831.

Parents of Elizabeth Gwinn were Alexander Gwinn and wife Mary Gwinn
(1st cousins). Alfred Fisher moved 1852 or 1853 to Warren County,
Iowa, lived near Hartford in Richland Township.

Samuel Peter Beeks Shepherd served in the Union Army, company A 48th
Iowa Infantry, was a member of Post 12, Des Moines. His daughter,
Lola Shepherd Elliott served as National President of the Daughters
of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
