THE JOHN TIETJEN FAMILY

John Tietjen was born in Barmsted, Germany on June 3, 1863 and came to Scott County, Iowa in 1881.

Dora Wacker was born April 2, 1862 in Davenport, Iowa.

John and Dora were married on June 16, 1886 at Davenport, Iowa. They had four children, Will, Emma, Vera, and Viola in the Sunbury, Iowa area and the entire family moved to Lester in 1902.

John Tietjen was a land agent and day laborer.

His wife passed away on March 16, 1913.

On July 14, 1915, John Tietjen married my grandmother Bull and they lived in Lester the rest of their lives. John died in 1925 and she died in 1932.
