Pictured here is the Henry Hasche Family in 1918. Henry came to the U.S. from Schleswig, Germany in 1880 with his widowed mother, brothers and sisters. He purchased the Hasche farm two miles north of Doon before the turn of the century. The farm is now owned by Harold Hasche, grandson of Henry. The children born to Henry included Antonette, Amanda, Anna, Albert, Clare, Otto, Rudolph and Herbert. Two brothers of Henry were also early-day Doon residents. They were John Hasche who owned a meat market here and Herman Hasche who was a bank cashier in Doon.
