funeral of Mr. Addison Daniels, who died at his home in Marion last
evening at 8 o'clock, will take place at the Congregational church in
Marion tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Two street cars will leave this
city tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock sharp, to accommodate all who may

Johnson | David | 1889 | David
Johnson, one of the old settlers of Linn county, died at his home in
Palo last Sunday in the seventy-first year of his age. Mr. Johnson had

McKean | N. W. | 1889 | N.W.
McKean one of the old settlers of Mt. Vernon, died Saturday morning at
seven o'clock. He had reached his three score years and ten and had
rounded out a very useful life. He was the father of Mrs. M. H. Denney
of this city and of Ed McKean, the postal clerk of Marion. They have

Otterbein | Mrs. Mary | 1889 | Another
old settler passed away yesterday afternoon at about 4 o'clock, at
which time Mrs. Mary Otterbein, wife of Philip Otterbein, breathed her
last. Mrs. Otterbein came to Cedar Rapids in 1854, living here ever
since. She was a consistent member of the First Presbyterian church and
died a christian death. She was a great bible student and had a
wonderfully retentive memory in comitting and keeping scriptural texts.

Clark | Oliver | 1891 | The
first death has occurred in that historical circle, with such light
hearts though old in life's troubles, met in picnic here as the old
settlers of Linn county. Oliver Clark, who lives near Mount Vernon died
at his home December 14th. He came here in 1840 and being somewhat
eccentric, had never had a photograph taken until taken in the group,
which Hon. J. C. Davis now holds and it being a remarkably perfect one,

Lockhart | Thos. G | 1891 | Center
Point, Jan 24 - Thos. G. Lockhart, an old and respected citizen of
Washington township, died at 7 o'clock this morning after a short
illness, at the age of 77 years. He was well known throughout the

C. P. Oxborn the well known horticulturist of Fairfax, died of
pneumonia yesterday, aged 73 years. The funeral will take place
Wednesday afternoon. The deceased was one of the old settlers of Linn
