Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry
Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while
fighting the enemy at Eastern Shore, Chosin Reservoir,
North Korea on or about December 2, 1950. He was
presumed dead on December 31, 1953. DOD records cite
December 12, 1950, as date of loss, but due to the
internal chaos within the unit due to high losses, it
is impossible without eyewitness confirmation to have
a specific date of actual loss. By December 12, 1950,
the unit was in reserve in the Hamhung-Hungnam area.
Reported DOD last known home of record - Donnellson,
Iowa.

2, 1950 and died of those wounds on September 2, 1950.

2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. He

Bunker Hill, Western Outposts, Korea on August 26,
1952. He was known as "Tommy." Tommy was adopted and
joined the Marine Corps just after graduating high
school.

was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy

14, 1950, forced to march to North Korea on the "Tiger
Death March," and died during the march between Manpo
and Chunggang-jin, North Korea on November 1, 1950.
PIERSEE, Howard Earl

20, 1951.
