Otto Fritzjunker, 79, Was Born in Westphalen, Germany
Funeral Tuesday Morning

West Point, (Special to the Evening Democrat). - Otto Fritzjunker, 79, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Theodore Moeller, northeast of here, Saturday afternoon at 3:50 o'clock. He was born in Westphalen, Germany, and came to this country at the age of 16, making his home in this vicinity.

On September 25, 1877, he married Kathleen Fedler in this town. Four son and three daughters were born to this union. His wife died in 1909, and four years later he married Mrs. Katherine Stuckey, of West Point, where they made their home until her death on December 29, 1923. Following her death he made his home with his children, spending the last four years of his life at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Moeller, near St. Paul.

He is survived by three sons, Kasper, Frank and Joe, all of St Paul, and his three daughters, Mrs. Theodore Moeller, Mrs. Adam Mueller and Mrs. William Arnold, all of St. Paul.

He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic church of West Point, the Men's Society of St. James church of St. Paul.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Mary's church in West Point, with the Rev John Fedler of Fort Madison, an uncle of the deceased officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery at West Point.

MRS. OTTO FRITZJUNKER

Mrs. Otto Fritzjunker, a well known and highly respected lady of Marion township, this county, passed away at her home near St. Paul, Sunday morning, April 18, 1909, at 12:02, aged 52 years, 7 months and 21 days, of paralysis.

The news of her death came as a shock to the many friends of the family,  many of them not even being aware of her illness. She was stricken with paralysis Tuesday, April 13, and grew steadily worse until death relieved her  Sunday morning

CATHERINE FEDLER was born near West Point August 20, 1856, and grew to womanhood here. September 25, 1877, she was married to Otto Fritzjunker at St. Mary's church by Rev. Wm. Jacoby, and has been a resident of Marion township ever since. This union was blessed with seven children, all living with (_?_) one which  died. (_?_)her husband, she is survived by three sons, Casper, Frank and Joseph, all at home: Three daughters, Mrs. Adam Mueller and Mrs. Theo Moeller, both of near St Paul, and Miss Christina at home. She is also survived by five brothers, Theo and Jos. Fedler of West Point; Gus and Bernard Fedler of Oklahoma and Lawrence Fedler of Horton, Kansas; and one sister, Mrs. John Goede of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Deceased was a great kind hearted woman, a devoted Christian character and was a member of St. James Catholic church at St. Paul. She was also a member of the Rosary Society. This honored and loved woman took her greatest pleasure in her home, united in heart and thought with her husband and children. She made many friends who mourn with the family in their sore affliction.

Funeral services were held at St James church at St. Paul Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. John A. Fedler of Panama, Iowa, nephew of the deceased. The impressive services were largely attended by relatives and friends. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery at that place.

FRITZJUNKER - STUCKEY

Mr. Otto Fritzjunker of St Paul and Mrs. Catherine Stuckey of West Point were married at St Mary's church in West Point Tuesday morning June 3, 1913.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev Father Jacoby at 7:30 o'clock and was followed by a nuptial high mass. Mrs. Koy Little of Quincy, Ill, and John Brockman of this place, niece and nephew of the bride, were the attendants. The bride wore gray silk, and the bridesmaid wore navy blue.

After the service the bridal party repaired to the bride's home where a wedding breakfast was served and a reception was also held which was attended by only the near relatives. Mr. Fritzjunker is a retired farmer and has been for
many years a prominent farmer living north of St Paul. Mrs. Fritzjunker has been a resident of West Point all her life The congratulations of relatives and many friends for a long and happy married life were showered upon them and many showed their esteem to this couple by presenting them with handsome and useful wedding
presents. They will make their home in West Point.

FRITZJUNKER

West Point and the community was shocked early Friday morning, December 29,  1922, to learn of the sudden and unexpected death of Mrs. OTTO FRITZJUNKER which occurred at her home in West Point at 8:45 a.m.

Mrs. Fritzjunker was preparing breakfast shortly after 8 o'clock when she was stricken. She was assisted to her bed and passed away shortly afterward.

CATHERINE KEMPKER was the daughter of John and Caherine Kempker and was born June 14, 1856. She was a life long resident of West Point and was 66 years 6 months and 15 days of age at the time of her death. She was united in marriage to Noah Stuckey June 17, 1890 who passed away a number of years ago. On June 3, 1913 she was united in marriage to Mr. Otto Fritzjunker who survives her. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Wwilliam Brockman and one brother, Johm Kempker both of West Point.

She was a member of St Mary's church and also the Altar Society of that parish. She was a woman of many splendid traits of character and will be missed in the home she left, and was a good true and kind wife and neighbor.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 o'clock at St Mary's church Tuesday morning. Rev Father Grothe officiated and interment was made in Calvary cemetery. The members of the Altar Society attended in a body and many relatives and friends who paid their last respects to the deceased.

Those attending the funeral from a distance were: Mrs. Jos Voase and Mrs. Lawrence Hummert of Quincy; H. Brockman, John Brockman, Miss Catherine Stuckey, Casper Mohrfield, and Mrs. Bert Lyons all of Ft Madison

Mrs. ADAM (MARY) MUELLER

West Point - Mrs. Adam (Mary) Mueller, 82, St Paul, died at 1 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart hospital, Fort Madison. Death terminated a lengthy illness. She was born June 10, 1890 at St Paul, and was a lifelong resident.

On Sept. 15, 1908 in St James Catholic church, St Paul, she was married  to Adam Mueller who preceded her in death in 1961.

She was a member of St James church and the Altar and Rosary Society of that church.

She is survived by two sons, Alfred and Wilfred, both of St Paul, and two daughters Mrs. Frances (Generose) Juttenmeyer, Tampa, FLa, and Mrs. Frank (Irene) Heyland of Burlington. Twenty grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and two sisters.

Her parents were Otto and Catherine (Fedler) Fritzjunker.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in St James church, St Paul, with the Rev Omer Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in St James Cemetery.

The body is at Link Funeral Home where the rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Wednesday by the Altar and Rosary Society and at 8 p.m. by the parish.

C. FRITZJUNKER Dies at 77

Casper Fritzjunker, 77, West Point, died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday in the Rest Haven Nursing Home at Mt Pleasant. Death terminated an illness of several years.

Born Jan 23 1881 at St. Paul, the deceased was a retired farmer and lifelong resident of this community. He never married. He was a member of the St Mary Catholic church at West Point.

Survivors include one brother, Joseph Fritzjunker, St. Paul; two sisters, Mrs. Adam Mueller and Mrs. W. A. Hunold, St Paul; nieces and nephews. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic church, West Point. Msgr. J.A. Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The body is at the Link Funeral Home where it will remain until time of service. Rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

MARRIED
FRITZJUNKER -- MERSCHMAN

Mr. Frank Fritzjunker of St. Paul and Miss Theresa Merschman of West Point were married at St. Mary's Catholic church in West Point, Tuesday, May 9, 1911.

In the presence of many relatives and friends and during nuptial high mass Rev. Father Jacoby united this prominent young couple. They were attended by Joseph Fritzjunker, a brother of the groom, who acted as groomsman, and Miss Clara Merschman, a sister of the bride, who acted as bridesmaid.
   
After the services the bridal party and relatives repaired to the bride's home where a wedding breakfast was served and where a reception was also held. The rooms were decorated in red and white.

The bride was attired in white messuline (?) silk, trimmed in allover lace and soutach (?) braid, and wore a wreath and veil. She carried a bouquet of bride's roses. The bridesmaid wore blue messuline (?) silk and carried white carnations.
     
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Merschman, east of West Point. She is a very popular young lady and was born and reared in this vicinity and is in every way well qualified to grace the home which she has chosen. The groom is a son of OTTO FRITZJUNKER and is a young farmer of many sterling qualities. Both have a host of friends who wish them a long, pleasant and prosperous life. The love and esteem in which this worthy couple is held was shown by the numerous and beautiful presents received.       

They will make their home in Henry County on a farm four and one-half miles north of St. Paul, which is owned by the groom and which he as furnished for his bride

F. FRITZJUNKER DIES SATURDAY

West Point, IA - Frank Fritzjunker, 67, of St. Paul, Iowa, died Saturday at 2:50 p.m. at Sacred Heart hospital, Fort Madison, following six years illness. [d 7-6-1946 was penciled in here] He was born Sept 6, 1883 at St Paul, and was a lifelong resident of that community, where he ran a general store for 22 years. He had retired some time ago.

He was married May 9 1911 to Theresa Merschman at St Mary's church in West Point. He was a member of St James church, St Paul, and of the St. Joseph society  For two years he served as township clerk.
     
Survivors include the widow, a son, Linus of St Paul, four daughters, Mrs. Bernard Meirotto, St Paul; Mrs. Paul Cooper and Mrs. Dale Benjamin, Fort Madison, and Cecelia of St Paul; two brothers, Casper of West Point and Joe of St Paul; three sisters, Mrs. Adam Mueller, St Paul, Mrs. William Hunold, St Paul, and Mrs. Elizabeth Moeller of West Point, and 11 grandchildren.
     
Funeral services will be held at St James church, St Paul, at 9 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev Francis Schafers officiating. Burial will be in St James cemetery.
     
The body was taken from the Link funeral home to the family home today.

Rosary will be recited at 5 o'clock tonight.

MRS. THERESA FRITZJUNKER

Mrs. Theresa Fritzjunker, 93, a resident at the Fort Madison Nursing Care Center, formerly of 1903 Avenue L, died at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 5 at the care center.

Mrs. Fritzjunker was born Feb 19, 1890 at West Point. She was a member  Sacred Heart Catholic church and the Fort Madison Senior Citizens.

On May 9, 1911, at West Point, she was married to Frank Fritzjunker, who preceded her in death July 6, 1946.

She is survived by a son, Linus (Butch) Fritzjunker of St. Paul; four daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Lizetta) Meierotto of St. Paul; Mrs. Dale (Lucille) Benjamin of Kingman, Ariz.; Mrs. Earl (Ceceilia) Krogmeier of Donnelson, and Mrs. Paul (Marie) Cooper of Fort Madison; and 27 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and five sisters. Her parents were Frank and LIzetta (Brandevinder) Merschman.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart church with the Rev Robert Amborn officiating. Burial will be in St James cemetery near St Paul.

The body is at the King-Lynk Funeral Home where friends may call after noon Friday and where the rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday.

A memorial is being established. Contributions may be made at the King-Lynk Funeral Home.

THEODORE F. MOELLER

Theodore F. Moeller, a lifelong resident of Lee County, passed away at his home in Pleasant Ridge township, Thursday, January 7, 1932, at 6:00 o'clock p.m., after an illness of almost three years. He was 63 years, 6 months and 26 days of age at the time of his death.

Theodore Moeller was born near St Paul, this county, June 10, 1868. On February 16, 1898, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Fritzjunker at St James church, St. Paul, Iowa. This union was blessed with twelve children, all of whom, including the widow, survive and are as follows: Mrs. Elizabeth Moeller, Henry Moeller of West Point, Otto Moeller of St Paul; Theo., Ernest and Casper Moeller at home; Mrs. Geo. Wellman of West Point, Mrs. Bernard Stuekerjuergen of Houghton, Mary and Adelaid Moeller of Ft Madison; Elizabeth, Matilda and Martha Moeller at home. Also by eight grandchildren, two brothers, John Moeller of St Paul and Jos. Moeller of Fort Madison; two sisters, Mrs. Stephen Leveling of Fort Madison and Mrs. Stephen Spiekermeier of West Point.

Deceased was well known and highly respected. He had farmed all his life and for the past fifteen years had been a resident of Pleasant Ridge township. He was a member of St Mary's Catholic church in West Point.

Funeral services were held at St Mary's church at 10 o'clock Monday morning. Rev Father Grothe officiated and burial was in Calvary cemetery.

Many relatives and friend paid their last respects to the deceased by attending the last services.

The pall bearers were six nephews: Wm. Spiekermeier and Jos. Geers of West Point; Rudolph and Emery Moeller of St Paul; Jos. Moeller and Raymond Moeller of Fort Madison.

LINUS O. FRITZJUNKER

Linus O. Fritzjunker 77, St. Paul, died Monday, March 8, at his home after a brief illness.

He was born June 10, 1915, in St. Paul, the son of Frank and Theresa (Merschman) Fritzjunker. On Oct 19, 1937, he married Cecelia Holtkamp in St James' Church, St. Paul. She died 14 Oct 1992.

Mr. Fritzjunker operated the St. Paul Grocery and Feed Store for 28 years, retiring in 1974. HE attended St. James' Church, and was a lifelong resident of St. Paul.

Surviving are one son, Le Roy, Iowa City; one daughter, Mrs. LeRoy (Delores) Mickelson, West Point; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and four sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Lizetta) Meierotto, West Point; Mrs. Dale (Lucille) Benjamin, Kingman, Ariz; Mrs. Paul (Marie) Cooper, Fort Madison, and Mrs. Earl (Cecilia) Krogmeier, Donnellson.
