STELLAPOLIS. Formerly known as Williamsburg, is a village on Iowa creek, in Troy township, Iowa county, 90 miles east of Des Moines, 12 southeast of Marengo, the county seat and nearest banking point, and 10 southwest of South Amana, on the C., R. I. & P. Ry the nearest railroad station. Settled in 1844, it contains Congregational and Methodist churches and a public school, and ships grain and live stock. The proposed line of the C. R. & O. Ry, will pass through here. Stages daily to Marengo and to Lytle City, 7 miles south; fares, 50 and 25 cents, respectively. Population, 200, Mail daily. W. R. Evans, postmaster.
