Any information on those serving in the Civil War, please feel free to email and I will add the information below. Samuel Shoop, born Jan. 6 or 7, 1846 at Harrisburg, PA; died August 27,1909 in Ida Grove, Iowa. He served Co. B, 27th PA Infantry, 36th PA Infantry, Company D, 20th Regiment, PA Calvary, and Co. D, Ist PA Provisional Cavalry. Samuel and his wife Mary Howard, moved to Ida County in 1883-84 and lived in Blaine Township. George F. Shoop, born April 2,1844, Harrisburg, PA; died May 27,1927, Ida Grove, Iowa. He served Company H, 1st Battalion of the PA Infantry in 1864. George and his wife, Elizabeth Chubb, moved to Arthur, Iowa in 1884. Samuel F. Shoop, father of Samuel and George F. Shoop, was born in 1817 in Dauphin County, PA, and died March 1890 in Arthur, Iowa. He served in Captain Sanno's Independent Company of the PA Infantry in 1862, and then in Captain Sanno's Independent Company of the PA Cavalry for 100 days in 1864. Samuel F. Shoop moved to Ida County with his son George and lived in Arthur, Iowa. |
