Funeral services for Delores Wickham of New Hampton, formerly of Alpha, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4 at the Alpha United Methodist Church in Alpha with Rev. Roger White officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery, rural Hawkeye. Pallbearers were: Brian Wickham, Bradley Wickham, Billy Wickham, George Pierce, Jerry O’Connor, and Jon Brooks. Hugeback Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Delores, 74, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton of natural causes.

Delores D. Wickham was born August 26, 1927 in Fayette, the daughter of Karl and Blanche (Brown) Martin. She received her education in Fayette and Clermont schools.

On June 30, 1945 she married Billy Ross Wickham in Waukon. They lived briefly in Clermont and later moved to Alpha in 1955. They later lived in Tama for several years.

Delores was a full-time housewife. During their time in Tama, her husband Billy Ross died. Delores later stayed a short time with her son, Larry in Alpha before moving to New Hampton in 1995.

She is survived by one son: Larry of Alpha; one daughter: Linda Brooks of Milton, FL; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband Billy Ross on December 21, 1985; her parents; and two brothers: Don and Robert.
