Weidler, Hazel M. nee Maske 1912 - 2002NEW HAMPTON -- Hazel M. Weidler, 90, Queen Valley, AZ, formerly of New Hampton, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, Idaho Falls, ID of natural causes. Funeral Services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30 a t Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton with Reverend David Bergstrom officiating. Edith Kolthoff was the organist and accompanied those in attendance singing "How Great Thou Art", "Just As I Am" and "Lord of All Hopefulness". Cross bearers were Michael Taylor and Daniel Young. Burial was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Boyd with Stuart Young, Perry Taylor, David Taylor, Don Pierce, Kevin Taylor and Dan Sumner serving as casket bearers. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton and an hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Hazel Mae Maske was born April 17, 1912 in Harris, the daughter of Charles and Maggie (Thomas) Maske. She attended Ocheyedan High School. After her schooling she spent a year teaching at Ocheyedan Public Schools. On Feb. 11, 1931 she was united in marriage to Walter A. Weidler at Ocheyedan. Following their marriage the couple farmed near Boyd and later purchased a farm near Jerico. Following their retirement the couple moved to New Hampton. In 2001, Hazel moved to Arizona to spend winters with her daughter, Beverly and the summers in Illinois with her daughter Gertrude. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Boyd and later Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton. She served her church as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the 4-H County Committee, Farm Bureau and ALCW. Hazel loved spending time with her family. Survivors include three children, Gertrude Marie Frei-dinger, Mt. Vernon, IL, Donald John Weidler, Duluth, GA and Beverly Ann Taylor, Queen Valley, AZ; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mabel VanStelton, Des Moines and Faye McCartney, Anchorage, AK. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Walter, in 1997 and a sister, Viojet Wehmeyer.
