Natvig, Theodora S. nee Knutson 1922 - 2002Funeral services for Theodora Natvig were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29 at the Saude Evangelical Lutheran Church at Saude with Rev. Kent Dethlefsen officiating. Interment was in Saude Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Travis Pollock, Craig Pollock, David Skaaland, Lance Zurfluh, Kyle Veltri, Allan Natvig, Oakleigh Natvig, and Roland Natvig. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Theodora, 79, died Monday, March 25, 2002 at her home Theodora Sigrid Nativg was born October 22, 1922 in Chickasaw County, the daughter of Theodore and Tina (Nelson) Knutson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Jerico Lutheran Church. She attended rural grade school in Chickasaw County and graduated from New Hampton High School in 1940. She taught in rural elementary schools for three years. On December 2, 1942 she married Godfrey Natvig at the Saude Lutheran Church parsonage. They made their home in Howard County, rural Cresco, where they farmed until the present. She was a member of the Saude Lutheran Church where she active in the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. She is survived by her husband Godfrey; eight children: Diane Skaaland of Wittenberg, WI, Dr. Duane Natvig of Northfield, VT, Mary Randall of Oak Park, IL, Gayje Zurfluh of Eatonville, WA, Marilyn Wallman of Medinah, IL, Tina Veltri of Loveland, CO, Ellen Rink of Decorah, and Michael of Cresco; 19 grandchildren; two brothers: Stanley and John, both of New Hampton; and two sisters: Lois Davis of Des Moines and Donna Jepson of New Hampton. Theodora was preceded in death by her parents; and four sisters: Norma Munson, Oriette Adams, Colleen Pollock, and Shirley Knutson.
