WADENA, MN -- Duane W. Karnatz, 72, Wadena, MN, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002 on his farm.

Funeral Services were Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Bielema Family Funeral Home, Wadena, MN with Rev. Murray Jacobson officiating.

Interment was in Wadena Cemetery, Wadena, MN.

Duane was born Feb. 21, 1930 in New Hampton Township, Chickasaw County, the son of Herman Jr. and Alma (Denner) Karnatz. He married Carol Mooers on Oct. 9, 1954 in Boyd. Duane worked for the U.S. Postal Service, Defense Contract Administration Service, General Service Administration of U.S. Government. After moving to Wadena, he started dairy farming. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; two daughters, Denise Ferguson, Wadena, MN and Patrice (Kent) Hejlik, Lakota, ND; one sister, Eva Duneman, New Hampton; a brother, Melvin Karnatz, Arkansas and five grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one grandson.
