AURORA, CO - John W. Hendricks, 54, Aurora, CO, died suddenly Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at the Medical Center of Aurora, South Campus.

A Funeral Mass was held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 11 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Hampton with Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating. Altar servers were Sara Ko-bliska, niece and Paula Shekleton. Lector was Michelle Kobliska. Gift bearers were Michelle Kobliska and Melanie Davis. Sister Lorraine Loecher was organist with Joyce Shatek as cantor. Placing of the pall was performed by Luke Davis, Amber Miner, Lisa Hendricks and Michelle Kobliska.

Interment was in New Hampton's Graceland Cemetery with military graveside rites accorded by the New Hampton American Legion Fae Stine Post #38. Serving as pallbearers were nephews Gordon F. Davis, Jr., Daniel J. Davis, Neil F. Davis, Eric C. Miner, Bryan E. Hendricks and Kyle W. Kobliska. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Kobliska, Michael Miner, Robert Broughton, George Ross, David Berensten, Robert Jurgensen, Richard Budinich, William Marquez and Albert Hartmann.

Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home with a 4:30 p.m. Rosary and 7 p.m. Scripture Service.

John William Hendricks was born Oct. 25, 1947 in Seattle, WA, the son of William J. Hendricks, Jr. and Jean Karen Berggren. He graduated from Franklin High School, Seattle in 1965. Me served in the U.S. Air Force for four years as a Crew Chief on KC-135 Air Refueling Tankers in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam Conflict. He received two Associate degrees from South Seattle Community College and graduated from the University of Washington, Seattle in 1977. He was then selected for USAF Officer Candidate School in San Antonio, TX where he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in Dec. of 1977. He reported to Sunnyvale Air Force Station, CA where he met and later married 2nd Lt. Jannette L. Davis on Nov. 18, 1979 in Seattle, WA. John Resigned his Air Force commission in 1986 and began his engineering career with The Boeing Company, Seattle WA. He worked for them in Kent, WA and in Denver, CO from 1995 until his death. He was a member of the American Legion, Fae Stine Post #38 and a life member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He enjoyed woodworking, fast-pitch softball, golfing, bowling, hunting ana computer work in support of the Chickasaw County Genealogical Society and the Davis Motorcycle Rally.

Survivors include his wife, Jannette; two daughters, Snoopy and Edwiene; his parents, William and Jean Hendricks, Seattle, WA; one sister, Karen (Michael) Miner, Seattle; one brother, Neil (Wendy) Hendricks, Spokane, WA; his mother-in-law, Lucile M. Davis, New Hampton; brothers-in-law, Gordon (Bev) Davis, Sumner and Michael Kobliska, New Hampton; one aunt; 11 nieces and nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents; his father-in-law, Eugene F. Davis; his sister-in-law, LaVonne (David) Kobliska and his uncle, Raymond Hendricks.
