Haupt, Carrie A. nee Peterson 1912 - 2002SUMNER — Carrie A. Haupt, 90, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002 at the Hillcrest Home, Sumner after a short illness. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 at St. John Lutheran Cnurch, Sumner with Rev. John Sorenson and Rev. Deborah Petricka presiding. Music will be provided by Connie Donat as organist accompanying Orval Leyh and the congregation singing "How Great Thou Art" ana "The Old Rugged Cross". Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at New Hampton Cemetery, New Hampton with Tom Fairclough, Craig Haupt, Joshua Bahr, Joseph Steggall, Christopher Steggall and Erik Haupt as casket bearers. visitation will be from 4-8 .m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Sumner and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Carrie Andrina, the daughter of Knute and Martha (Attleson) Peterson was born Jan. 28, 1912 in Jerico. She was baptized and confirmed at Crane Creek Lutheran Church, Jerico. On July 3, 1931 she was united in marriage with Clarence Haupt, Sr. at Crane Creek Lutheran Church, Jerico. Carrie worked at Westcott and Winks Produce, Snyder Produce, Coast-to-Coast Hardware and Community Memorial Hospital, all in Sumner. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Sumner. She enjoyed baking, canning, gardening and fishing. Survivors include four children and their spouses, Clarence Haupt, Jr., Sumner, Betty Fairclough, Sumner, Gerald and Irene Haupt, Maple Valley, WA and Richard and Margaret Haupt, Afton, VA; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild and one sister, Olga Diesburg, New Hampton. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, in 1985; one son, Dennis Haupt, in 1999; one grandson, Mark Haupt, in 1993; one granddaughter, Margaret Fairclough, in 1988; one great-grandson, Jeremy Steggall, in 1976; one daughter-in-law, Helen Haupt; eight brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church Roof Fund or to Hillcrest Home, Sumner.
