Grove, Ellen P. nee Graves 1920 - 2002NEW HAMPTON - Ellen P. Grove, 82, New Hampton, died Friday, Dec. 13 from injuries sustained in an auto-train accident. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 a t Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton with Rev. Terry Lynn Schoenfeld of the Evangelical Free Church, Atlantic officiating. Interrnent will be in New Hampton City Cemetery with Haffan Pose, Tom Bernatz, Maurice Randall, Richard Kalkbrenner, Dave Swenumson and Clark Koenigsfeld as pallbearers. Visitation was from 3-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16 at Hugeback Funeral Home, New rlampton where there was a 7 p.m. Video Memorial Tribute. further visitation will be an hour prior to services at the Funeral home on Tuesday. Ellen was born March 24, 1920 in Ionia, the daughter of Roy and Elizabeth Graves. She attended rural country school in Chickasaw County. On June 28, 1941 she married Grant Grove of Cedar Rapids. Ellen and her husband owned and operated various businesses throughout eastern and northeast Iowa, including the Log Cabin Tavern, Cedar Rapids; Ionia Feed and Milling, the Country Store Pizza Kitchen and the Bread Basket in New Hampton. Ellen loved to cook, entertain, read, quilt and play cards. Survivors include one son, Tim (Faye) Grove, Hiawatha; one daughter) Nancy Grove, Cedar Rapids; one granddaughter; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Beulah Quisling, Mason City and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Grant, in 1987; a son Tom Grove, in 1976; three brothers, Charles Graves, Ev Kruth and Joe Kruth and one sister, Jeanne Smith.
