NASHUA - Leland E. Fisher, 78, formerly of Nashua, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center-New Hampton of cancer.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 14 at St. John Lutheran Church, Nashua.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua.

Visitation was 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at Cnen-oweth and Son Funeral Home, Nashua and will also be one hour before time of service at the church on Friday.

Leland Everett Fisher was born June 18,1923 in Chickasaw County, the son of Earl and Mary (Baldwin) Fisher. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1950. He married Geraldine Austin on Aug. 21, 1953. He was retired from Carnation in Waverly.

Survivors include four children, Mary Dean, Nashua, David Fisher, Ionia, Kevin Fisher, Frederika and Jeannie Tibbits, Nashua; three brothers, Lyle and Mark, Nashua and Ben, Charles City and six grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Geraldine, in 1971; two sisters, Mona Newton and Coral Fisher and four brothers, Loyal (Ollie) Edmund, Donald and Lawrence Fisher.

Memorials may be directed to North Iowa Hospice, Charles City.
