Services are pending for A. Raymond Evans, 95, at Bayard, Nebraska, who succumbed early Tuesday morning, August 13, after a lingering illness.    . _v

He is the father of Alfred T. Evans, LeRoy, former publisher of the LeRoy Independent, and grandfather of Dan Evans, the present publisher.

Mr. Evans had been resident of a nursing home in Bayard for the past three years.

He had been publisher of several small-town weekly newspapers, including those at Big Springs, Madrid and Lodgepole, Nebraska and also had owned a printing business in Sidney, Nebraska.

Survivors include his wife, Florence; three sons, Alfred R., LeRoy, Minn.; Don and Paul, both of Bayard, and two daughters, LaWanda, Sidney, Nebr., and Connie, Kimball, Nebr.; also a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Another son, Virgil, preceded him in death.
