Erion, Austin D. 1984 - 2002SAVANNAH, MO - Austin D. Erion, 18, Savannah, MO, formerly of New Hampton, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at a St. Joseph, MO hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral Services will be 8 p.m. Friday, June 21 at Meierhoffer Family Funeral Service in Missouri, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Additional Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton with Reverend David Bergstrom and Reverend Kevin Frey officiating. Interment will be in the New Hampton Cemetery, New Hampton. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton,, where there will be an 8 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also be an hour prior to services at the church. Austin D. Erion was born April 30, 1984 in Mason City. He lived in New Hampton until November 1999 when he moved to St. Joseph, MO. He was a 2002 graduate of Central High School. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hanging with friends and spending time on the computer. Survivors include his parents, Floyd Elsbernd and Brenda Erion of the home; his father, Ricky D. Erion, Alta Vista; three sisters, Jamie (Brad) Hart; Jessica Flatjord, all of West Des Moines and Ashley Erion, Savannah, MO; two stepsisters, Heather Elsbernd and Katherine Elsbernd, both of Fort Worth, TX; a stepbrother, Beniamin Elsbernd, Fort Wortn, TX; maternal grandparents, Charles and Val Schuchhardt, North Washington; paternal grandparents, Marvel and Leola Erion, Alta Vista and uncles, aunts and cousins. Preceding him in death were his maternal great-grandparents, Walter and Leanor Schuchhardt and Leonard and Berdina Warnke; his Paternal great-grandparents, aul and Lou Haeflinger and Harvey and Anna Erion and a cousin, Elissa Erion. Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Family YMCA in memory of Austin Erion.
