Funeral services for Charles Bakke of rural Lanesboro, MN were held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 26 at Elstad Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro with Rev. Peter Huggenvik officiating. Interment was in Elstad Lutheran Church Cemetery. Johnson-Riley Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Charles, 72, died Monday, July 22, 2002 at his home of congestive heart failure.

Charles H. Bakke was bom March 6, 1930 in La Crosse, WI and graduated from Lanesboro High School in 1948.

On September 22, 1952 he married Catherine Blaser at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco.

He was a former member of the Elstad lutheran Church Council and was a Twins and Vikings fan.

He is survived by his wife Catherine; two daughters: Sharon Wissing of Preston, MN and Susan Buss of Waverly; two sons: Duane and David, both of Lanesboro; 11 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and two sisters: La-Vonne McCabe of Lanesboro and Rosalie Hongerholt of Fargo, ND.
