Attleson, Orland L. 1929 - 2002NEW HAMPTON - Orland Luther Attleson, 72, New Hampton, died Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton of natural causes. Funeral Services were held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30 at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton with Reverend Kevin Frey and Reverend David Bergstrom officiating. Edith Kolthoff was the organist and accompanied the vocalists, Peter and Phyllis Willadsen singing "On Eagles Wings" and Boring Cry". Mike Hereid was the cross bearer. Interment was in New Hampton Cemetery with Mark Hereid, Don Hereid, Steve Lang, Chris Johnson, Darrell Lang and Peter Attleson serving as casket bearers. Visitation was from 3 to 8 .m. Friday, March 29 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton and an .hour prior to services at the church. Orland Luther Attleson was born May 25, 1929 in Mt. Sterling, WI, the son of Attley and Millie (Eiberg) Attleson; He was baptized at Utica Lutheran Church, Mt. Sterling, WI. In 1943 his family moved to the New Hampton area. He was confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, New Hampton. He received his education at a rural school in Wisconsin and in Jacksonville Township, rural New Hampton. He remained in New Hampton the remainder of his life and became a resident, of the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Hampton in May of 2000. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing bingo and« going on fishing trips. Survivors include three sisters, Hazel Hereid; Thelma (Roger) Johnson and Mavis Lang, all of New Hampton; a brother, Stanley (Irene) Attleson, Rochester, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Percival Attleson.
