ALTA VISTA - Herman Alt, 81 formerly of Alta Vista, died at the Westbury Place, Houston, TX on Sept. 1, 2002.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sept. 14 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Houston, TX with The Rev. Helen Havens officiating.

Interment for both Herman and Aletha Alt will be at a later date at the Alta Vista Cemetery.

Herman was born on Nov. 11, 1920. He married Aletha Teitjen on June 27, 1939. Herman and his father, Adolph, owned and operated Alt Shoe Store in Alta Vista for over 75 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Alt, Houston, TX and Janice Blum, Euless, TX; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Aletha and three brothers, Gustav, August and Ludwig.
