ZIPSE, Evelyn Hannah nee DREWELOW 1917 - 2001NEW HAMPTON - Evelyn Zipse, 83, New Hampton, died Sunday, July 8, 2001 at her home in New Hampton of natural causes. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton with Rev. David Bergstrom and Rev. Kevin Frey officiating. Edith Kolthoff was organist, accompanying those in attendance singing raith of Our Fathers", "My Faith Looks Up To Thee", "Jesus Still Lead On" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". Burial was in the New Hampton Cemetery with Jerry Zipse, John Sheehy, Jim Zipse, Rick Schnoebelen, Rick Drewelow, Joe Rochford, and Randy Zipsie serving as casket bearers. Visitation was from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 10 at Conway Funeral Home in New Hampton and also an hour prior to services at the church. Evelyn Hannah Zipse was born Dec. 4, 1917 near Boyd, the daughter of Albert Carl and Martha (Boeckmann) Drewelow. She attended the Boyd School. After her schooling, Evelyn helped area families with their housekeeping and cooking. On May 14, 1940 she was united in marriage with Fay ZipSe at the Boyd Church. After their marriage the couple lived in New I lampton for a few years before moving to a farm northeast of New Hampton, where they farmed until retirement. The /ipses remained on the farm after their retirement. Fay died in 1979. In 1982, Evelyn moved to New Hampton: She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending activities at the Senior Center, music, dancing, fishing, flowers and birds.. Surviving are two sons, Dennis (Marge) Zipse and Merlyn (Jeanne) Zipse, New Hampton; two daughters, Sue North, Nevada and Julie (Bruce) Keller, Lakewood, CO; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, eneva Drewelow, Ionia; two nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Fay in 19/9; one brother, Gerald Drewelow; two sisters, Lillian Rochford and Caroline in infancy.
