WAGGONER, Verna H. nee HANNON nee MULLINS nee BROKAW 1915 - 2001Verna H. Waggoner, 86, of Riceville, Iowa and forrmerly of Fort Dodge, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001 at her home in Riceville. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 5, in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Gordon Watson, pastor of First United Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Otho Cemetery. Verna Brokaw was born March 2, 1915 in Mason City. As a child she moved to Fort Dodge with her family attended school and graduated from Fort Dodge High School. In 1937 she married Jack Hannon in Long Beach, Cal. where they established their home. In 1940 they moved to Fort Dodge. He preceded her in death in 1942. In 1948 she married Jim Mullins in Reno, Nev. and they made their home in Fort Dodge. He preceded her in death in 1960. In 1964 she married Sylvan Waggoner at Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek Township and they established their home on a farm in Deer Creek Township. In 1994 they moved to Riceville. He preceded her in death in 1997. She was a member of the Eastern Star and past worthy matron, past member of the D.A.R., and a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. Survivors include three daughters, Vema Johnson and Mary Allen, both of Riceville, and Elizabeth Peer, Conrad, Mont.; one son, Jim Mullins, Souris, N.D., one step-son, Larry Waggoner, Overland Park, Kans.; and one step-daughter, Jan Black, Red Oak. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and ?ell Marsh Brokaw; three husbands, Jack Hannon, Jim Mullins and Sylvan Waggone; one brother, Bill Brokaw, Sr., and one sister, Hazel Landreth.
