UGLUM, Mildred nee TAYLOR 1915 - 2001NEW HAMPTON ~ Mildred Uglum, 85, Freeport, IL and formerly of New Hampton, died Monday, April 9, 2001 at the Freeport Memorial Hospital in Freeport of natural causes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 16 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Hampton, with Rev. Carl Schmitt presiding. Ann Bennett will be organist, accompanying St. Mary's Choir. The pall is to be placed on the casket by granddaughters, Margo Oliver and Megan Homan, who will also present the offertory gifts. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery with Richard Schwiesow, Rob Schwiesow, Dan Homan and Gene Schultz as pallbearers. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the services at the churcn. Larkin-Martin-Huge-back Funeral Home, New Hampton, is in charge of arrangements. Mildred was born near Little Turkey on Aug. 24, 1915. the daughter of Edward and Maria (Praska) Taylor. She attended school in New Hampton and was a 1933 graduate of New Hampton High School. On June 19, 1941, Mildred married Harold Uglum at St. Mary's Catholic Cnurch, New Hampton. She had worked in the hat department at the former Kennedy's Department Store in New Hampton. In 1992, Mildred moved to Freeport, IL to be near her daughter. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and Rosary Society. Survivors include one daughter, Sandy (Richard) Schwiesow, Freeport, IL; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Marge (Paul) Hoffman, New Hampton. Preceding her in death were her husband, Harold and a son, Kenneth Uglum.
