Funeral services for Raymond Stark of Riceville were held on Friday, January 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Riceville. Rev. Michael Carey officiated. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Raymond, 74, died Monday, January 8, 2001 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Raymond Gerald Stark was bom August 22, 1926 in Riceville, the son of Harvey and Marion (Tomey) Stark. He attended local country schools.

On September 3, 1955 he married Loretta Jordan at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Chester. Raymond was a veteran of the Korean War. Having served in the U. S. Army, a lifetime member of Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Second (Indian Head) Division Association, and the Korean War Veteran’s Alliance.

Survivors include his wife Loretta of Riceville one. son: Gary of Estes Park, CO; three daughters: Connie Losee of Mason City, Kay Dose of Rochester, MN, and Sandy Tuttle of Ames; 11 grandchildren; and one sister: Mildred Matteson of Adams, MN.

Raymond was preceded in death by his mother in 1968; his father in 1976; two sisters: Merle in 1922 and Eleanor in 1925; and one brother: Glendon in 1991.
