ROSENBAUM, Lavon Katherine nee MEYER 1922 - 2001WAUCOMA - Lavon K. Rosenbaum, 79, died Sept. 9, 2001 at the Palmer Lutheran Health CeYiter, West Union after a brief illness. A Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waucoma with Rev. Marvin Salz as celebrant and Carmelita Rosenbaum as lector. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waucoma. Pallbearers were Gilbert Rosenbaum, George Rosenbaum, Allie Schmitt, Brian Bouska, Duane Wurzer and Todd Berg. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12 at the Waucoma Funeral Chapel with a 4 p.m. Parish Rosary and 7 p.m. Scripture Service. Lavon Katherine (Meyer) Rosenbaum was born Aug. 23, 1922 in Waucoma, the daughter of George F. and Mary A. (Ott) Meyer. She attended St. Mary's School, Waucoma. On Dec. 7, 1947 she was united in marriage to Fred Rosenbaum at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waucoma. She lived in Waucoma all of her life. She enjoyed playing cards, going for walks, cooking and embroidering. She was a Gold Star Mother. Survivors include her husband, Fred; one son, Louis Bouska, South St. Paul, MN; two grandchildren; two brothers, Mike Meyer, Waucoma and Neal Meyer, West Des Moines; one sister, Darlene Mayo, Waucoma and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were two sons, Bernard Bouska in 1950 and Gerald Rosenbaum in 1968; her parents and two brothers, Lee Meyer and her twin, Lloyd Meyer.
