ESCALON, CA -- Cornelius "Case" Rietveld, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000 at his home.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. at the Saron Lutheran Church, Escalon.

Interment was held at Burwood Cemetery, Escalon following services.

Visitation was Nov. 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon.

Mr. Rietveld, a native of the Netherlands, was a 42-year Escalon resident and was a retired building inspector, working 12 years for the City of Escalon. He was a member of the Saron Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; two sons, David Rietveld, South Dakota and Tim Rietveld, Oregon; four daughters, Judy Johnston, San Jose, CA; Joann Strand, Washington; Donna Dale, San Jose, CA and Lori Bonzi, Modesto, CA; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Iowa relatives include: brother-in-law, Paul Hassman and sisters-in-law, Helen Schilling and Ina Hassman, all of New Hampton and many nephews and nieces.
