PECHOTA, Raymond Joseph 1928 - 2001Raymond Joseph Pechota, 73, died July 8, 2001, at Cedar Rapids.The Stewart funeral Home of Cedar Rapids was in charge of the arrangements. Recitation of the Rosary and a prayer service was conducted by Rev. Gerald Condon of Gilbertville on July 10. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Little Turkey at noon on July 10 with Sr. Louann Doering of Lawler conducting the burial rites. Raymond Joseph Pechota was born March 17, 1928 at Little Turkey, the son of Edward and Regina (Busta) Pechota. He attended school in the area, moved with his parents to New Hampton and later to Waterloo. He continued his education and became a high school graduate. He entered the Army, and served in Vietnam. When he returned he worked in an airplane factory in California. He came back to Waterloo to be with his parents. In semi-retirement he was employed in the maintenance department in the courthouse in Cedar Rapids. He is survived by one sister: Norma Wentworth.
