Owen John Moore, 65, of Hemet, Cal. died of a stroke at Hemet Valley Medical Center on April 7, 2001. A rosary and mass was held Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Hemet, Cal. with burial in Riverside National Cemetery.

Owen was born January 14, 1936 in Osage, Iowa, son of A1 and Connie Steffen. He was in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War as a Private and was an installation and repairman for GTE for 30 years in Southern California and Wisconsin. He and his wife La Dona had been married 44 years and lived in Garden Grove, Cal. for 17 years.

Owen is survived by his wife; sons, Gregory of Fullerton, Cal. and Jeffrey of California; daughter, Deborah Kidwell of Modesto, Cal.; brothers, Emmett Moore of Los Gatos, Cal., Elmond Steffen Jr., of Waterloo, Iowa and Vincent Steffen of Mazeppa, Minn.; and grandchildren Jessica Kidwell and Nathaniel Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A1 and Connie Steffen.
