MONAGHAN, Shirley Ann nee QUIRK 1928 - 2001IONIA — Shirley Monaghan, 73, Ionia, died Saturday, Oct, 27, 2001 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City, with the Rev. Stanley < Hayek presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and there will be a Vigil Scriptural Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning at the church an hour prior to the Mass. Shirley Ann Muetz Monaghan was born Sept. 18, 1928 in Colwell, the daughter of William and Helen (Quirk) Muetz. She received her education from the Colwell and Immaculate Conception Schools. On Oct. 8, 1946, she was united in marriage with Donald Monaghan at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Shirley and Don farmed in the Deerfield area. She enjoyed spending time with her farpily, helping Don on the farm, cooking, entertaining family and friends and playing cards. Survivors include; her husband, DonaLd, Ionia; two sons, Gary (Cheri) Monaghan, Reinbeck and Ron (Debbiei Monaghan, Mason City; fivi grandchildren and two great| grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; an infant daughter, Sherry; a brother, Ken Muetz and a sister, Betty Cox.
