MEYERS, Amelia "Hub" M. nee ROTHS 1910 - 2001IONIA - Amelia (Hub) Meyers, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001 at the New Hampton Care Center, New Hampton. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 17 at St. Boniface Church, Ionia with Reverend John Hemann presiding. Mass servers will be Ryan and Amanda Wegner. Placing the pall will be her children and the lector will be Merle McGrane. Grandchildren Carol Holmes, David Voves and Jean Britt will be gift bearers and Sister Melita Meyers will be Eucharistic Minister. Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery with grandchildren Roger Harrington, Mark, Gary and Craig Meyers, Jerry and Charley McGrane and Brian Voves serving as casket bearers. Honorary bearers will be grandchildren Margery Fuiten, Karen Wegner, Sue Thorson, Molly Pins and Renee Voves. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16 at the Ionia Funeral Home, Ionia where there will be a 7 p.m. prayer service. Amelia M. (Hub) was born March 12, 1910 near Ionia, the daughter of Peter and Theresa (Pitz) Roths. She married Cletus L. Meyers on Nov. 12, 1928 at St. Boniface Church. Together they farmed in the Ionia area until moving to Ionia in 1947. Amelia was a life long member of St. Boniface Church and was active in rndhy church and community activities. She was a cook at the Catholic School for a number of years. She enjoyed having visitors and sharing her sense of humor with them. Survivors include one son, Jerry (Barbara) Meyers, Lawler; four daughters, Betty (Richard) Harrington, Ionia; Jane (Merle) McGrane, Ionia; Sister Melita Meyers, Stacy-ville and Linda (Linus) Voves, Ionia; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Hubert (Hoop) Burgart, Ionia. Preceding her in death were her husband, Cletus, in 1981; five grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Roths, Sr. and four sisters, Evelyn Gilbert, Agnes Adams, Leona Klassen and Gertrude Roths.
