LECHTENBERG, Agnes P. nee SCHWAMMAN 1909 - 2001NEW HAMPTON - Agnes P. Lechtenberg, 91, New Hampton, died Sunday, April 15, 2001 at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of natural causes. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Hampton, with Rev. Carl Schmitt presiding. Ann Bennett was organist, accompanying the St. Mary's Choir and the Immaculate Conception Men's Choir of North Washington. The pall was placed on the casket by her daughters, Darlene Aegerter and Alice Pomplun. Offertory gifts were presented by Diane Burggraf and Amy Kupser. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery wkh Mark Lechtenberg, Pat Aegerter, Troy Lechtenberg, Travis Lechtenberg, Matt Lechtenberg, Jason Eicnenberger, Derek Lechtenberg and Scott Lechtenberg as pallbearers. Visitation was held from 3-9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18 at Larkin-Martin-Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton, with a 4 p.m. Rosary, 7 p.m. Scripture Service and a 7:30 p.m. Video Memorial Tribute. Agnes was born in St. Lucas on June 22,1909, the daughter of Chris and Rose (Franzen) Schwamman. She attended St. Luke's School in St. Lucas. On Feb. 15,1938, she married Anton Lechtenberg at St. Luke's Catholic Church. Initially the couple lived a brief time near Roseville, then moved to their farm northwest of New Hampton. Following her husband s death in 1982, Agnes remained on the farm until 1984. She then moved into New Hampton where she presently lived excluding the brief period in the nursing home. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Rosary Society and Choir. Agnes enjoyed quilting, sewing, word puzzles, reading and still maintained her garden and flowers at her home. Surviving are five sons, Delbert (Joan) Lechtenberg, Richard (Linda) Lechtenberg, Dale (LuAnn) Lechtenberg, all of New Hampton, Kenneth (Cheryl) Lechtenberg, Dennis (Rosalee) Lechtenberg, North Washington; two daughters, Darlene Aegerter, New Hampton, Alice (Rod) Pomplun, Warroad, MN; 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one sister, Anastasia Holder, Waucoma. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Anton on Dec. 6, 1982; three sisters; five brothers; a son-in-law, Earl Aegerter.
