JEPPERSON, Jerry Lee 1960 - 2001CHARLES CITY - Jerry Jepperson, 40, Charles City, died Sunday, April 22, 2001 at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City of natural causes. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City with Rev. Dennis Niezwaag officiating. Andrea DeVore was organist, accompanying those in attendance singing "Amazing Grace", "Softly and TenderlyM and "On the Wings of a Dove". Burial was in the New Hampton Cemetery with Dave Boch, Kevin Hicks, Paul Johnson, Jeremy Stephens, Edd Mahlstedt, Eric Mahlstedt, Tim Dann and Lewis Hunt serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers were John Hurd and Jim Mahlstedt. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 at Conway Funeral Home in New Hampton and an hour prior to services at the church. Jerry Lee Jepperson was born Nov. 9, 1960 in Iowa City, the son of Chris David and Mary Ellen (McDaniel) Jepperson. He grew up on a farm southwest of New Hampton and attended New Hampton High School. He married Janice Leslie on Jan. 13, 1979; the couple later divorced. Jerry then joined the National Guard 133rd Infantry in Charles City. He married Sherry Dralle in 1986 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church; they were later divorced. He was a resident of Charles City for many years Jerry was the Animal Control Officer in Charles City and worked for numerous farmers. He was a member of the Charles City Jaycees, enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, trapping, building and racing demolition cars, but most of all he enjoyed his daughters and family. Surviving are his mother, Mary, Nashua; two daughters, Amanda and Sarah, Charles City; three brothers, John (Izetta) and Jason (Joy), Charles City, Jesse (Hollie) Greene; 13 nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding him in death were his father, Chris; paternal and maternal grandparents; one niece, Ellen.
