HATTIG, Paul "Bob" E. 1914 - 2001FREDERICKSBURG -- Paul (Bob) Ernest Hattig, 87, Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at Colonial Manor in Elma. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 21 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paurs Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, on Friday, July 20 at Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home in Fredericksburg and one hour prior to services at the church. Bob was born June 14, 1914 in rural Bonesteel, SD, the son of Heinrich and Eliza (Peetz) Hattig. He attended Pleasant Valley District #14 School, Bonesteel, SD through the eighth grade. On Aug. 22, 1940, Bob was united in marriage with Clara Pacl at Burwell, NE. They moved to the Fredericksburg area in 1941, where they farmed until retiring in 1979. Bob entered Colonial Manor due to failing health in November of 2000. He enjoyed vacations with his wife, Clara, gardening and he loved to work. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg. Surviving are his three children, Angela (Roger) Zeimetz, Spring Valley, MN, Ron (Bev) Hattig, Fredericksburg; Anita (Clark) Miller, Dumont; nine granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Stena Frasch, Bonesteel, SD. Preceding him in death were his wife, Clara on Nov. 29, 1984; his parents; brothers and sisters, Henry and Herman, Dorothy Ohden, Clara Kasper, Anna Jones and two in infancy. Memorials may be directed to the family.
