NEW HAMPTON - Marion Lucille Engelhart, 80, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001 at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton.

Funeral services will be 11a.m. Friday, Feb. 23 at Hillcrest Baptist and Brethren Church_t Fredericksburg.

Burial will be in Horton Cemetery, rural Waverly.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cheno-weth & Son Funeral Home, Fredericksburg and one hour prior to services Friday, Feb. 23 at the church.

Marion was born July 16,1920 in Bremer County, the daughter of Edwin and Ruth (Shipp) Ihde. She was raised in the Horton area and attended the Horton country school through eighth grade. She was united in marriage to Anton (Tony) Engelhart on Sept. 18, 1943. They farmed in the Horton area until moving to Fredericksburg in 1969 where they both were employed at Meinerz Creamery, later known as Beatrice Cheese, Inc. Marian retired in 1983. Marion was a member of the Horton Baptist Church. She enjoyed babysitting, gardening, canning and doing needlework.

Survivors include three sisters, Margaret Melendy, Waterloo; Gladys Batchelder, Minneapolis, MN and Marjorie Hoy, Owatonna, MN and many nieces and n ephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Tony, in 1989; her parents and a brother, Melvin Ihde.
