EISCHEID, Lavonne nee LENTZ 1923 - 2001NEW HAMPTON - Lavonne Catherine Eischeid, 77, New Hampton, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001 at her home of cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Hampton with Rev. John Barnes and Rev. Carl Schmitt celebrating the Mass. Sr. Lorraine Loecher was organist. Lector was Betty Boehmer. The all was placed on the casket y her brothers and sisters. The offertory gifts were presented by Margie Reicks and Cindy Holthaus. Private Family Interment will be held at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery, North Washington. Pallbearers are Bill Eischeid, Randy Boehmer, Kevin Boehmer, Glen Kuehn, John Kuehn and Mike Jenn. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28 at Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton, with a 4 p.m. combined Catholic Daughters of America and Rosary Society Rosary and a 7 p.m. Scripture Service, and also an hour prior to the services at the church. Lavonne was born Sept. 18, 1923 near North Washington, the daughter of George and Theodora (Bach) Lentz. She graduated from St. Mary's School in North Washington in 1941. On Sept. 3,1947 she married Ray Eischeid at Immaculate Conception Church, North Washington. The couple initially made their home west of New Hampton and later moved northwest of North Washington. Following the death of Ray in 1957, Lavonne worked for Rev. Louis Wendling in North Washington from 1958-1966. She then moved to Key West, near Dubuque where she worked with Rev. Wendling until his death in 1969. She moved back to North Washington where she lived with her parents and worked at St. Benedect in Decorah with Rev. Al White until 1972. Lavonne worked at Sara Lee from September 1972 until her retirement in 1991. Lavonne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Rosary Society and the Coffee Cup Bowling League. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, classical music, playing piano and writing in her journal daily since 1972. Survivors include her father, George Lentz, New Hampton; one brother, Joe Lentz, New Hampton; two sisters, Pat (Leo) Kuehn, New Hampton and Fran (Jerome) Boehmer, Alta Vista; several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Ray Eischeid on Nov. 25, 1957 and her mother, Theodora Lentz.
