EICHENBERGER, Agnes Anna nee GALING 1914 - 2001ALTA VIST A ~ Agnes Eichenberger, 87, Alta Vista, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001 at the Colonial Manor in Elma of natural causes. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Alta Vista with Rev. John Hemann officiating. Organist will be Jolene Frantzen and she will accompany the St Bernard Church-Choir singing "You Are Mine", "Gift Of Finest Wheat", "Let There Be Peace On Earth" and "Just A Closer Walk". Jenny Bodensteiner will be the flutist and will accompany Betty Boehmer and Jean Cerwinske singing "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman". The lectors will be Jenny and Mark Bodensteiner. Eucharistic ministers will be Monica Marvin and Mark Bodensteiner. Agnes' grandchildren will be . the gift bearers ; and her children will place the pall. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Jason, Jeremy, Michael and Janell Eichenberger and Kristi and Melani Toeper serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at Conway Funeral Home, Elma, where there will be a 4 p.m. Rosary and 7:30 p.m. Scripture Service, and also an hour prior to services at the church. Agnes Anna Eichenberger was born Aug, 31, 1914 near Alta Vista, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Koci) Galing. She attended country school near her home. After her schooling she stayed at home and farmed with her family. On Oct. 2, 1946 she was united in marriage with Raymond John Eichenberger at Immaculate Conception Church in North Washingtpn. Following their marriage the couple resided for one year near Reilly Ridge before moving to a farm south and west of Alta Vista. The couple retired and moved to Alta Vista in 1974, where she was currently residing. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, making quilts and her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Virgil, Elma and Bernard (Eileen), Alta Vista; 11 grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Bernard Galing and Henry Galing, both of Alta Vista; two sisters, Hilda Zweibohmer, Alta Vista and Rosella Keiss, Charles City. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Raymond, in 1985 and one sister, Helen Geerts.
