ECKENROD, Michael W. 1952 - 2001CHARLES CITY - Michael Wayne Eckenrod, 49, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001 at his home. Cause of death pending an autopsy. Funeral Services will be held Friday, Nov. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Nashua with Pastor Marion Sindt officiating. Organist will be Nelaa Shepard accompanying Gene Niewoehner and the congregation singing " "I Will Remember You", "The Lord's Prayer", "Beyond the Sunset" ana "On Eagle's Wings". Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City. Honorary casketbearers I will be Mark Caswell,, Eckenrod, Lyn Hites and Keith Eckenrod casket bearers will be Tim Clark, Bob Kraft, Rod Fisher, Bob Wiltse, Jerry Wiltse and Darin Thornton. Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home, Nashua and one hour prior to the services at the church. Mike was born Aug. 13, 1952 in Charles City, the son of Leslie and Fern (Healey) Eckenrod. He grew up in Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School in 1970. He attended Iowa Lakes Community College, Emmets-burg, earning an Associate of Arts degree; then attended Sioux Falls College, Sioux Falls, SD, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. He married Nancy Agnitsch Sept. 16, 1977. They were later divorced. Mike worked for Skyline Harvestore until its closing in 1983. For the past 18 years he was employed by cable television companies, with the latest being Mediacom. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include three children, Zachary, Charles City Lucas; currently stationed at Mannheim, Germany and Elizabeth Eckenrod, Charles City; one grandson; his parents; Leslie and Fern Eckenrod, Nashua; one brother, Ron (Jane), New Hampton; two sisters, Cheryl (Gene) Niewoehner, Sumner and Kay (Dave) Courtney, Nashua; numerous nieces and nephews and one great -niece. Memorials may be directed to the family
