DEER, Irene M. nee KRUEGER nee BUHROW 1930 - 2001NEW HAMPTON - Irene Mary Derr, 70, New Hampton and formerly of Nashua, died Sunday, April 8, 2001 at her home. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 11 at Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home, Nashua, with Pastor David Bergstrom officiating. Music included "In The Garden", "How Great Thou Art" and "Old Rugged Cross". Interment was in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Readlyn. Irene was born Nov. 10, 1930 at Tripoli, the daughter of Alfred and Adelia (Ganske) Buhrow. She attended rural schools in the Readlyn area and graduated from Readlyn High School in 1948. She married Wallace Krueger in 1948 and they lived in Denver. The couple later divorced. She was united in marriage with Herbert Derr in 1967. They resided in a number of communities until moving to Nashua in 1985, where they made their home until recently moving to New Hampton because of Irene's health. She worked in the office for John Deere and was a part-time librarian in Waverly. Irene and Herbert were property managers for about 10 years. She retired in 1993 after working as a teacher's aide at the Nashua Elementary School. Irene enjoyed cooKing and being outdoors. Surviving are her husband, Herbert, New Hampton; a son, Robert Krueger, Taos, NM; three stepchildren, Don Derr, Savannah, TN, Curtis Derr and Roxie Milligan, both of Crump, TN; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elston Buhrow, Sutherland, and Fritz (Alfred) Buhrow, Denver.
