WAUCOMA - Fred V. Culpepper, 54, died Jan. 29, 2001 at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

A Funeral Mass was held Thursday, Feb. 1 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waucoma with Fr. Marvin Salz as celebrant. A 7 p.m. Scripture Service was held Wednesday, Jan. 31 at Waucoma Funeral Chapel.

Interment was in Alpha Cemetery, Alpha.

Fred Vaughn Culpepper was born April 29, 1946 in E. St. Louis, IL, the son of Oralle Vaughn and Mary Elizabeth (Hake) Culpepper. He spent his childhood in E. St. Louis, IL and later lived in Chicago, IL, where he managed an apartment building. He married Judy Anderson on Jan. 2, 1971 in Illinois. They divorced in 1983. Fred moved to West Union in 1984 and in 1986 moved to Alpha and then moved to Waucoma in 1990. He enjoyed spending time with his friends.

Survivors include one son, Orin Culpepper, Dalton, GA; one grandson; one sister, Sandy Higgins, Belleville, IL and one aunt, Rita Barker, Tahokia.
