CAGLEY, Ella Irene nee FISHER 1915 - 2001NASHUA - Ella Irene Cagley, 85, died Thursday Jan. 11, 2001 at Mercy Medical Center-New Hampton. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at The Little Brown Church, Nashua with Pastors Linda and Bob Myren officiating. Music was provided by Betty Orric as organist and Janice Edson as vocalist singing "The Old Rugged Cross", "In The Garden" and "Holes In The Floor Of Heaven". Interment was in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City. Casket bearers were Todd Dietz, Alvin Klink, LeRoy Klink, Curtis Thompson, Jeremy Stephens and Justin Kasemeier. Ella was born in Chickasaw County on Dec. 25, 19l5, the daughter of Noble and Eva (Waterman) Fisher. She attended elementary schools in Chickasaw County and lived in the Nashua area all of her life. She was united in marriage to Ernest Cagley on Aug. 18, 1934 on the stage in front of the grandstand at the Big Four Fairgrounds in Nashua. Ella worked at various jobs in the area. She was a member of The Little Brown Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and belonged to the Women's Fellowship and the Men and Women's Breakfast Club. She was also a member of the Happy Hour Club and and worked as a foster grandparent at Comprehensive Systems in Charles City. Survivors include five children, Phyllis (Neal) Thompson, Nashua, Glenn (Mary) Cagley, Waterloo, Rolland (Marlys) Cagley, Nashua, Sharon (Gene) Keeling, Waverly and Patty Dietz, New Hampton; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren; 11 great great-grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Fisher, Riverside, WA and Kenneth Fisher, LaPorte City and one sister, Maude Bartlett, Wickenburg, AZ. Preceding her in death were her husband, Ernest, in 1978; her parents; two brothers, Russell and Lee Fisher and three sisters, Vivian Kimball, Hattie Schroeder and Mary Baldwin.
