BRUNNING, Paul A. 1941 - 2001NEW HAMPTON - Paul Arthur Brunning, 60, New Hampton, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001 at his home of an apparent heart attack. Memorial services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 at Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton. Carol Gorman will be organist. Private Family Interment will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers are Dave Brunning, Marty Brunning, Randall Brunning, LeRoy Bobst, Ron Blomberg and Mike Brunning. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 at Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton where there will be a 7 p.m. Masonic Service and 7:30 p.m. Video Memorial Tribute. Further visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Paul was born June 29,1941 in Boone, the son of James and Dorothy (Gustafson) Brunning. He attended grade school in Waterloo and graduated from West High, Waterloo in I960. He immediately began working at John Deere of Waterloo. On April 22, 1968 he married Sandy Sommer in Galena IL. The couple lived in Waterloo following their marriage and moved to their current home in New Hampton in 1976. After 31 years with John Deere, Paul retired from the Product Engineering Center. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 40 years and was a Past Master .of the Waterloo Masonic Lodge #105 AF & AM. He enjoyed coin collecting, sport cards and was active in the bowling league in New Hampton. Survivors include his wife, Sandy Brunning; six sons, Terry (Sue) Brunning, San Diego, CA, Jeff Brunning, Decatur, IL, Todd (Silka) Brunning, San Leandro, CA, Martin Brunning, Waterloo, Eric (Darlene) Brunning, Chandler, AZ and Mike (Becky) Brunning, Shawnee Mission, KS; one daughter, Lenora Brunning, New Hampton; 15 grandchildren; three brothers, Ron Blomberg, Sandwich, IL, David Brunning, New Hampton and Randall Brunning, Waterloo; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and step-father, Jay Bottine. .
