BRUMMOND, Arlene A. 1923 - 2001NEW HAMPTON - Arlene A. Brummond, 77, New Hampton, died Saturday, May 19, 2001 at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of complications following a stroke. Funeral services will be10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 22 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Hampton with Reverend John Barnes presiding. Ann Bennett will be organist and will accompany the church choir. Pat Ackley and Alice Koenig will place the pall, Phyllis Schoonover and Jane i Urness will be gift bearers and Elaine Denner will be lector. Interment will be in the family plot in New Hampton Cemetery with Mark Ackley, Ryan Wegner, Bob Brummond, John Brummond Jr., Andy Urness and Don Shinstine serving as casket bearers. Honorary bearers will be Geraldine Denner, Levi and Clinton Patrie, Gary Fichtel and Jerry Noltenmeier. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 21 at Conway Funeral Home, New Hampton where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 6 p.m. parish scripture service. Arlene Angeline Brummond was born Aug. 24, 1923 at the home of the Brummond family homestead near New Hampton, the daughter of Samuel and Gertrude (Heying) Brummond. She attended the rural school and had resided at the Heritage Residence, New Hampton since the death of her mother in 1948. She entered the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Jan. 14, 2001. Arlene enjoyed playing bingo, cards, dancing, latch hook work, bowling ana walking. She went to the Special Olympics. She was a life long member of St. Mary's Church. Survivors include two sisters, Esther Barta, Allison Care Center and Marie Meier, Chester, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, Mabel Stiefel and Adeline Shinstine and four brothers, Gerald, Clarence, Lawrence and John Brummond Sr.
