BOEDEKER, Marion D.nee VanBROCKLIN nee SCHUTTE nee BOEDEKER 1923 - 2001FREDERICKSBURG Marion Dorothy Boedeker, 78, Fredericksburg, died Friday, June 15, 2001 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ, Fredericksburg, with Pastor Joan Fumetti officiating. Eva Mae Niewoehner was organist, accompanying the congregational singing of "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "For the Saints". Interment is in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg, with Dale Kleiss, Douglas Kleiss, Gene Kleiss and Randy Boedeker serving as casket bearers. Marion was born March 30, 1923 at Readlyn, the daughter of Ernst and Clara (Bruns) Boedeker. She lived in various communities with her family. Marion graduated from West Union High School in 1941. She was united in marriage with Rollis Schutte. To this union three children were born. Following their divorce, Marion worked at Stork Hatchery in Fredericksburg. She married Don Van Brocklin; they were later divorced. Marion worked as a bookkeeper for Mueller & Cahoy Plumping, retiring in 1985. Marion taught Sunday School and was a member of her church choir and was active with the Senior Citizens, Homemakers Club and the Share Program. She enjoyed music, singing and cooking. Surviving are two daughters, Janice (Verlyn) Wenndt, Anoka, MN, Sandra (Bruce) May, Schofield, WI; one son, Ronald (Pam) Schutte, Fredericksburg;. her stepmother, Margaret Boedeker, New Hampton; two stepdaughters, Terry Von Roden, Cedar’ Rapids, Debbie Ferguson, Moline, IL; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one brother, Paul Boedeker, Fredericksburg; one sister, Louann Kleiss, Fredericksburg. Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Roland Boedeker. Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
