Ralph E. Wherry, 96Services Friday for Ralph E. Wherry, 96 Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Osage for Ralph E. Wherry, 96, Osage resident who died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000 at Faith Home Nursing Home in Osage. Pastor Dennis Hanson and Pastor Roy Ott will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and one hour before the services at the church. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery. Mr. Wherry was born April 13,1904 at Rhodes, Iowa, son of Frank and Maude (Sutton) Wherry. He married Laura Thorena Lindley, daughter of Ole and Mary Lindley of Osage on March 10, 1928 at Minneapolis. Minn., at a double wedding with Ralph's brother, Loran and Laura's sister, Clara. The couple made their home on a farm until 1934 when they moved to Osage. Ralph was employed by Mitchell County Maintenance for 23 years and later for Standard Oil until his retirement. He then farmed his sister, Marquerite Erbe's land for five years. In April 1994 he moved to Worth Living Center in St. Ansgar until February 1999 when he moved to the Faith Home in Osage. Survivors include two sons, Darrell (Mick) and his wife, Shirley, Osage, and Marvin and wife. Aria, Marsailles, Illinois. Also three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandaughter. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura; a grandson, David F. Wherry; four brothers and three sisters.
