Catnryn Weber, age 91, of LeSueur, Minn., and formerly of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died on Tuesday, March 21, 2000 at the St. Peter Community Hospital in St. Peter.

Cathryn was born on December 31, 1908 at Gilbertville, Iowa to Henry A. and Elizabeth (Schmitz) Weber. Her family moved to Waterloo, Iowa for a few years and then to Riceville where she graduated from high school. She entered nurses training at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn, and transferred to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Chicago where she graduated as a Registered Nurse.

She was a nurse during the depression at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She went to Los Angeles, California before World War II ended and worked at Cedar Lebanon Hospital and later at Childrens Hospital for five years.

She returned to Iowa to be near her elderly parents and worked at the Health Center at the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls, Iowa for 20 years. She moved to LeSueur, Minn, to be near her sister in 1997.

She is survived by her two sisters: Mae Hamilton of LeSueur, Eunice Kelly and her husband, Paul of Hobbs, New Mexico; one niece and five nephews; brother-in-law, Ralph Houck of Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 23, 2000 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at LeSueur. Fr. Kenneth L. O’Hotto officiated. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery at Riceville.
