Services were held Monday, Feb. 21,2000 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Osage, for Amos C. Schaefer, 77, Osage resident who died Friday. Feb. 18 at the Faith Lutheran Nursing Home in Osage.

The Rev. Fr. Clayton Haberman officiated at the 10:30 a.m. Mass Interment was in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Meyer, Iowa.

Mr. Schaefer was born Oct. 27, 1922 near Meyer, Iowa, son of Mathias and Isabelle (Blake) Schaefer. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Meyer. He married Marilyn Haberman at the Sacret Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake, Minn., on Sept. 16, 1953 and they lived and farmed north of Meyer. March 17, 1986 they moved to Osage.

He became a resident of Faith Lutheran Nursing Home Aug. 25,1992. where he resided until his death. He was a member of Sacret Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Osage.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, Osage; three daughters. MaryLou Byrd and husband Gary and their children Nathan, Laura, Mary and Sara of Donahue, Iowa; Jane Kramer and husband Jim and the children. Jordan. Kyle and Taylor, Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Vick? Lehman and husband Greg, and their son. Grant, Galena, IL. three sons. David Schaefer, Minneapolis; Alan Schaefer and wife Judy and children Christopher. Dennis and Gina, Blooming Prairie, Minn., and Brian Schaefer and wife Kim and children Kellie. Lauren and Jacob Stacyville, Iowa. Also two brothers, Avery Schaefer and wife Floren of LeRoy. Minn., Raymond Schaefer and wife Jeanette, Taopi, Minn one sister. Sister Alice Schaefer, Dubuque, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Cole? Schaefer, LeRoy, Minn., and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
