ROCHESTER, MN - John "Jack" Pougiales, 79, Rochester, MN, died of lung cancer Saturday, May 20 at Rochester Methodist Hospital.

Funeral services were at noon Wednesday, May 24 at Macken Colonial Chapel in Rochester.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Rochester.

Visitation was from 5-7 .m. Tuesday, May 23 and an our before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

John Pougiales was born July 11,1920 in Rochester. On Jan. 2, 1945, he married Jeanne E. Lynch of the Waucoma area at St. John's Catholic Church in Rochester. Mr. Pougiales was a lifelong Rochester resident and retired businessman, having worked in real estate. He was an avid out-doorsman and conservationist and enjoyed canoeing, hiking and nature photography. He was active in the Audubon Society and Nature Conservancy and was also a model railroad buff.

Surviving are four daughters, Ann (Charles) Mac-Nab, Mill Valley, CA, Rita Pougiales, Olympia, WA, Mary (John) Posey, Navato, CA, Joan Pougiales, St; Paul, MN; three grandchildren; a brother, George, Rochester.

Preceding him in death was his wife.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Audubon Society.
