Villo E. Offen, Jr., 53Villo E. Offen, Jr., age 53, of Mclntire, Iowa passed away at his residence on January 11,2000 with his wife and children present. A Mass of the Resurrection was held Friday, Jan. 14, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer, Iowa at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph M. Schneider officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery, Riceyille, Iowa. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled arrangements. Villo Offen was born on December 18, 1946, in Riceville, Iowa, to Villo and Elizabeth (Weber) Offen. Villo was one of four children born to this marriage. He attended local schools and graduated from the Riceville High School and went on to receive a degree in diesel mechanics. He served in the Army and was stationed in Vietnam. On January 25, 1969 Villo was united in marriage to Sandy K. Heimerman at the Sacred Heart Catholic. Church in Meyer. He and Sandy entered into farming in 1974. Villo was a member of the Hale Penney American Legion Post 569 of Stacyville, Iowa and the Osage V.F.W. Post 7920 of Osage, Iowa. Survivors include: his wife, Sandy Offen of Mclntire; four daughters, Lynnette Offen of Minneapolis, Minn., Michelle Richardson and her husband Randy of Riceville, Deanne Tyler and her husband Rob of Rockford, Iowa, and Janelle Offen of Mclntire; and one son, Daniel Offen of Mclntire. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Kirsten and Ryan Richardson of Riceville, and three sisters, Mrs. Bonnie (Don) LeFevre of Guttenberg, Iowa, Mrs. Dorothy (Jim) Schwab of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Nancy Meyer of Postville, Iowa; and a mother-in-law, Mrs. Marcene Heimerman of Stacyville, Iowa. Villo was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Francis Heimerman.
