Hazel Leora Meyer, 88FLOYD — Hazel Leora Meyer, 88, Floyd, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000. Funeral services were 1 p..m. Thursday, Aug. 17 at Gospel Lighthouse Church in Floyd with pastor Paul Phillips officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City. Visitation was from 3-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16 and 9-11 a.m. on Tnursday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, and also one hour prior to services at the church. Hazel Leora was born Aug.25, 1911 in Floyd County, the daughter of Edward B. ana Ada (Herman) Stillion. She received her education in the Charles City School System. On Dec. 3, 1938, she married John Joseph Meyer in Waterloo. Hazel was a. life-long resident of Floyd County. She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Floyd, which she helped establish in 1977, and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Surviving are her daughters, Dolores (Lewis) Moon, Rockford, IL, Bonnie Holtz and Lois Meyer, Floyd, a son, John J. (Kris) Meyer, New Hampton, Lyle (Sharon) Stillion, Colwell, Judy Reetz Monson, Charles City; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several cnildren Hazel and her husband, John helped raise; a sister, Nettie M. Wall, Floyd. Preceding her in death were her husband, John; her parents; one brother, Dewey Stillion; one great-grandchild.
